Kammprofile (Camprofile) gaskets feature a solid metal core with a series of concentric serrated grooves machined into both faces to a precise profile geometry. These serrations are typically covered with a thin layer of soft sealing material — most commonly flexible graphite or PTFE — that bonds to the grooved core surface. When compressed under bolt load, the serrated ridges cut into the soft overlay material, creating multiple high-stress sealing lines across the gasket face.
The solid metal core also makes Kammprofile gaskets highly blowout-resistant and reusable — in many cases, only the soft overlay layer needs replacement at maintenance — a significant advantage in heat exchanger and pressure vessel applications, in any of our seven manufactured alloys.
